Walter Lee Nichols, 81, of Bodcaw, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at his home. He was born June 27, 1928, in Bodcaw, to Myra and Lottie Relaford Pinkney. He was a former employee of Potlatch; a former convenience store employee of both EZ Mart and the Texaco convenience store, and he was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw. He was also a member of the Nevada County Rescue Unit and was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Nora Lee Rayborn Nichols, who died January 20, 2008; one brother, Buck Nichols, and two sisters, Rose Lee Bustin and Delpha Mae Bailey.
Survivors include one son, Ferralon Nichols and Elizabeth, of Hope; two daughters Joyce Hicks and Tommy, and Loyce Jones, both of Bodcaw; two brothers, William Nichols and Barbara, of Redfield, and Tilman Nichols and Glenda, of Spring Hill; two sisters, Dorothy Huckabee, of Spring Hill and Shirley Lewis and Eloise, of Bodcaw; four grandchildren, Russell Glass, of Prescott, Tracy Hicks and Keith Jones, both of Bodcaw, and Pamela Jenkins, of Bento; 10 great- grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, at Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw with the Revs. Joe Brown, Jerry Hightower, and Lane Garner officiating. Burial will follow in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish The Funeral Home in Prescott.
