Hattie Jo Cannon passed away April 19, 2017

Hattie Jo Cannon, age 91, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away on April 19, 2017 at her home. Born on February 4, 1926 in El Dorado, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late James Alfred and Ollie Mae Floyd Burney.

Mrs. Cannon was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a retired business owner, She and her husband Lester were the owners of The New Variety Store which opened in March of 1946 in Heber Springs and The Country Store which they built and operated in 1966 in Drasco, Arkansas until retiring in 1983. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Heber Springs.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lester "Buck" Cannon.

She is survived by her daughters Sheila Hammonds and her husband Ken of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Nedra McClure of Ft. Worth, Texas, her brother Gordon B. Hoskins of Huntsville, Alabama and her sister Patsy Ann Hayes of Kensett, Arkansas, her grandchildren Patrick Hammonds, Derek Hammonds, Jeremy McClure and Courtney Irby and her husband Bryan and her great-grandchildren Brian McClure, Brilee McClure and Evelyn Prailey. Mrs. Cannon is also survived by her other relatives and many friends.

Visitation and funeral services were Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Olmstead Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Fowlkes officiating. Interment followed in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
