On Friday January 13, 2012 at approximately 3:23PM Deputies were dispatched to the 5800 block of Highway 29 North in Blevins in reference to a person with a gun.
Deputies made contact with the caller who stated that her son Eddie Harris who had been in jail for the past three years in Texas for Domestic Battery had a stolen gun and was trying to sell it to another individual.
Deputies went to a location where Eddie Harris was reported to be and took both Harris and the gun a .22 caliber rifle into custody. Harris 33 of Austin, Texas was charged with Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons (Felon In Possession Of Firearm ) Harris was transported to the Hempstead County Jail to await a first court appearance.
