The last time Mike Anderson coached Arkansas against Kevin Stallings' Vanderbilt Commodores it snowed with  the Razorbacks already  in a blizzard of turmoil having just fired Nolan Richardson.

Nearly 10 years later since that 81-67 victory in March over Vandy at Walton marked the first of Anderson's two-game tenure as Arkansas' interim coach, Anderson is 21 games returned as Arkansas calmly  coaching through much fairer weather but against a tougher Vanderbilt team tonight.

The AP No. 25 Commodores, 16-5, and a second in the SEC 5-1, and the Razorbacks, 15-6, 3-3, clash at 8 p.m. at Walton Arena as part of ESPN's Super Tuesday telecasts.

"Obviously it was a difficult time, an interesting time," Anderson said when asked to recall that snowy, chaotic March 2,  2002.   "Our guys did a good job of rallying around each other, but this is totally different.  We’re in the SEC race. They (the Commodores) are playing some outstanding basketball and we’re just coming off of a tough loss (72-66 last Saturday at Alabama) and we want to make sure we continue to defend our home court.”

Arkansas has been 15-0 invincible holding home court at Walton and 0-6 away from Fayetteville.

Meanwhile in the SEC the Commodores are 2-0 on the road.
