On Feb. 15, 2012, Timothy Hank Jackson, 35, of Prescott, was arrested in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred at the Tobacco Superstore, located at 104 E. Main Street in Prescott, according to a Prescott City Police Department release.

Officers with the Prescott Police Department responded to the Tobacco Superstore in the early morning hours of Monday, February 13, after the store manager had arrived at work and discovered that someone had gained entry into the business by force and had removed the safe and an undisclosed amount of money.

Jackson was developed early in the investigation as a person of interest. He was initially interviewed and released. Later, Jackson was developed as a suspect, but reportedly had fled the local area in an attempt to elude capture.

On February 15, Jackson was discovered in the Boughton Community, as a passenger in a vehicle. A traffic stop was attempted by deputies of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, but Jackson fled from the vehicle on foot into a wooded area. After an hour-long search by Hope City Police Officer Johnny Weaver and his K-9 partner, Rex, Jackson was arrested without incident. The Prescott Police Department would like to thank Officer Weaver and Rex, as well as members of the Nevada County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in this arrest.

At the time of this release, the majority of the money taken during the robbert and the safe have been recovered. Jackson has been the only one connected to the burglary at this point, but investigation into the matter continues.
