An Ozan man was killed Friday when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway in Hempstead county.
The one-vehicle accident claimed the life of Paul Wayne Ray, 30, 461 Highway 332 W., Ozan.
According to information from the Arkansas State Police, Ray was driving a 2006 Chevrolet pickup on Highway 332 near Ozan at the time of the accident. The police report indicates that Ray’s vehicle left the roadway on the west side of the highway, apparently prompting Ray to overcorrect and leave the roadway on the east side. The pickup overturned and hit a tree, according to the report.
The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The report states that Ray was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard County Coroner John Gray.
According to the report, Ray was alone in the pickup and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
