Man killed as a result of motorcycle/car collision

A traffic accident which occurred over the weekend left one man injured and one dead.

Arkansas State Police said Joey Brown, 30, of Highway 29 North in Hope, was killed Saturday when his CRV 600 motorcycle struck a 1999 Honda Accord, driven by Timothy Boyd, of Hempstead County Road 123 in Hope.

 

The accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. on Arkansas Highway 32 West at its intersection with Arkansas Highway 53 in Nevada County. Arkansas State Police Investigating Officer David Hamilton reported that the Honda Accord was northbound on Nevada County Road 108 crossing Highway 32 when it was struck by the motorcycle which was westbound on Highway 32. Hamilton reported road conditions clear.

 

Brown's body was taken to Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott, according to Hamilton.

Boyd, 54, was taken to Medical Park Hospital in Hope. Medical Park personnel said Monday morning that Boyd was no longer at Medical Park. More information was sought with administration, but no one was available for comment .

Brown was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to Hamilton.
