Events line up for the Yerger reunion here for the Fourth

Parade
Festivities for the annual Yerger High School Reunion got underway here Thursday with a colorful parade from the campus of the current Yerger Middle School.
Alumni from various classes through the years were represented in the parade in cars and colorful floats that wound through the streets and returned to the Yerger campus.
The parade was followed by a fish fry at the Hope Fair Park Coliseum, which was to benefit the Yerger Museum.

Next
Friday - Ketty Lester will be honored at 2:30 p.m. at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The Class of 1965 will sponsor a banquet.
Saturday - A Fourth of July dance will be hosted by the Class of 1964 at Hope Fair Park beginning at 8 p.m.
Sunday - Ketty Lester performs in worship services at Prividence Missionary Baptist Church at 11 a.m., and at a spiritual celebration at 3 p.m.

Who
Ketty Lester - Recording artist and actress, and native of Hope, she got her start in the music industry with “I’m a Fool for You,” and the flip-side hit “Love Letters.” Lester has appeared in numerous films and television performances.
Linda Poindexter Chesterfield - Former state representative and 1965 graduate of Yerger High School, she will keynote the Friday night banquet at Hope Fair Park.
Hazel Booker Simpson, Alice Powell Straughter - Reunion chair and secretary may be contacted for ticket information at 777-3207 or 777-9148.
