Students and parents in the Hope Public School District will be involved in a variety of end of summer events in preparation for the beginning of classes for the Fall 2018 semester.
Parents of students intending to participate in any school-sanctioned sport during the 2018-2019 school year are required to attend a general meeting at 5:30 p.m., July 31, in the Hope High School auditorium. All students in grades 7-12 who participate in athletics must have physical examinations completed prior to the start of the season for their sport.
HPSD coaches will be on hand to explain requirements for student participation and to answer questions. If a parent is unable to attend the July 31 general meeting, coaches will advise them by appointment.
Freshman orientation at Hope High School is set for Aug. 2 from 5-7 p.m. at the HHS auditorium.
Parents and freshmen students will attend a general session in the auditorium to complete registration information and receive class schedules.
Students will use the registration form to complete a campus tour “scavenger hunt” which will allow them to meet HHS administrators and teachers in the hallways during the tour.
Sign-up for clubs, organizations and activities will be held in the foyer of the MAC center during the tour. Students in athletics programs may also turn in previously incomplete information at the coaches’ table.
The tour will conclude in the HHS Annex Building with distribution of free backpacks filled with school supplies. Refreshments will also be served.
Questions prior to the event should be directed to Rosalyn Davis, HHS administrative secretary, at 870-777-3451 during regular business hours.
HHS senior students go “Game On” at the annual Senior Breakfast on Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. in the HHS cafeteria. The meal is free to all 2019 senior HHS students.
Seniors will receive their class schedules, and will meet with school counselors for career and college planning.
Questions prior to the breakfast should be directed to senior sponsor Terri Hoglund through 870-777-3451.
