Pafford’s 2018 Stars of Life, paramedic David Richardson and his partner/wife, EMT Lori Richardson, recently met with Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, Senator John Boozman, Representative Rick Crawford and Ashley Shelton from his staff, and Representative Bruce Westerman as part of the festivities surrounding the American Ambulance Association's Stars of Life program.
The 100 Stars of Life for 2018 and their companies‘ hosts from all over the U.S. are being honored for their service to their communities.
The June 12-13 meetings with the senators and representatives were also attended by
the state’s other Star of Life, Terry Childers of LifeNet. The senators and representatives thanked each "Star" for their service to Arkansas citizens, learned about the particular reason each one was nominated and were invited to "ride—a|ong" with any of the services represented when they are back in their respective Arkansas districts to witness firsthand the critical role played by the state's EMS providers.
During the meeting, the Richardsons were congratulated for going the extra mile to provide comfort during and after calls to their fellow citizens, most of whom they know. They were also lauded for showing a commitment to EMS that spills over from the work schedule into their everyday lives.
"We're so proud of David and Lori and delighted that their exemplary service is being honored on such a grand stage,” said Jamie Pafford—Gresham, CEO of Pafford Medical Services and chairperson for the American Ambulance Association's Government Affairs Committee. She accompanied the Richardsons to the meeting, along with Rebecca Williamson, chief compliance officer for Pafford Medical Services and chairperson for the American Ambulance Association's Medicare Regulatory Committee.
The Stars of Life Program is an annual event recognizing the country's most exemplary paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), emergency medical dispatchers (EMDs) and EMS support personnel by their companies and the American Ambulance Association, the primary trade association of ground ambulance service suppliers and providers in the U.S.
Pafford Medical Services, Inc. is a 51-year-old family business offering air and ground ambulance services in Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
