Members of Boomers Rock know a lot more about the Village after the scavenger hunt last year.
They will discover a few more places this year as they fan out around the Village to find the precise locations they must document in one hour.
With the wonder of modern technology, they won’t even have to lug anything back – they can simply snap photos with their phones or digital cameras.
This adventure will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Cortez Pavilion, 181 Carmona Road, with registration and organization of the scavenger hunt.
Participants are encouraged to come up with creative names for their search groups. The list is top secret and will not be revealed until the players are ready to go. It may include a decorated fire plug, a restaurant menu or a building with a particular house number. There is no doubt searchers will find some locations they never knew existed.
Teams (at least two people to a vehicle) will strike out at 5 p.m. and must return within an hour with their finds. The team who brings proof of the most Village treasures in the allotted time will receive a cash prize. Teams who are late will be penalized, but traffic tickets for speeding or rolling stops are not on the list.
At 6:30 p.m. all searchers who have found their way back will sit down to a fabulous feast catered by Riverside Catering and share their tales of adventures in exploration.
The menu will include fish, chicken, fries, coleslaw and baked beans. Iced tea and water will be available, but anyone is welcome to bring other beverages. The cost of this activity is $15.
The Boomers take the best of our memories and throw in a modern twist to provide fabulous fun at each event. This party is an exclusive Boomers Rock event, but it’s easy to join.
