At night homeless pets dream of being warm and safe in the arms of their loving families. It’s a dream you can help come true when you adopt a rescued pet from Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League.
AWL is joining Best Friends Animal Society in the “Bring Joy” adoption event throughout December. All adult cats may be adopted for $25 each, and kittens, dogs and puppies may have negotiable adoption fees as well. AWL wants all of our pets to have a home this Christmas.
AWL, in partnership with POA Animal Control, is a no-kill rescue group. Visit www.hsvawl.org to see all available pets. Call Nancy Jones at 922-6444 or Connie Mills at 915-9702 to inquire about cats; call Martha McHale at 922-0442 or Shelley Shepherd at 314-520-8674 to ask about dogs.
AWL is an all-volunteer group that relies upon donations, member dues, small grants and income from fundraisers to fund veterinary care, spay/neuter, medications and food for shelter animals.
While in the shelter, the volunteers provide attention, dog-walking and cat-cuddling so the pets will be socialized and friendly. But even this warm attention cannot replace the love pets feel when they become part of a family.
Come by the adoption center and see if you can give a gift of love to one of the homeless pets by adopting a lovable cat or dog. Having that furry family member by your side or in your lap will bring joy into your home and into the heart of your pet.
If you cannot adopt, your donations are tax-deductible because AWL is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Maybe you will have it in your heart to donate during this giving season. Either way, you will be helping homeless pets in the Village, and they thank you.
