On Friday, November, 18 Dr. Michael Carter, University Distinguished Professor, at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center presented the invited Key Note Address at Oxford University Hospitals in Oxford, England. The program was a celebration of advanced nursing and midwifery practice and included speakers from several specialties. Advanced Practice Nursing in the United States includes nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists.
Dr. Carter holds a Doctorate in Nursing Science from Boston University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from the University of Tennessee. His Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing are from the University of Arkansas and he has been a nurse practitioner for 45 years. He currently resides in Tumbling Shoals.
