The Garrett Memorial Christian School Saints and junior high Saints took action earlier this week to conclude their regular season schedule splitting wins against WOOCA of Little Rock and TCA of Hamburg.
In senior high boys action on Tuesday, January 31, the Saints had an intense matchup against TCA on the hardwood. The Saints' battled hard the entire game with an amazing performance by Seth Foster who scored a season-high 38 points against TCA.
The Saints had a one point deficit at the end of the first quarter, 21-20 with Foster leading all scorers having 14 first quarter points.
In the second quarter, the Saints built momentum taking a 10 point lead 34-24 down to the 3:00 minute mark.
TCA came back later in the quarter to cut their deficit taking a four point lead, 40-36 with 17 seconds remaining in the half. A trey by Mason Moses at the buzzer pulled the Saints within one point 40-39, ending first half play. Fosters had 24 points at halftime for the Saints. In the second half, TCA would maintain their lead to out-score the Saints 38-31.
TCA went onto defeat the Saints, 78-70.In the game, Saints' Mason Moses scored in double-figures with 11 points and swished two trey’s from behind the arc, Justin Felder scored 10 points and Zach Key added seven points.
On Monday night January 30, the senior and junior high Saints were victorious over WOOCA.
In junior high boys action the jr. Saints defeated WOOCA 46-40. In the game, jr. Saints' Felder led scoring in double-figures with 20 points and Jacob Stockslager had 15 points.In senior high boys play, the Saints pulled out a 10 point win 69-59 over WOOCA. In the game, Foster led scoring with 27 points, Moses had 15 points and Felder added 14 points.
The senior high Saints and Lady Saints enter regional tournament action held in Little Rock. The tournament is scheduled February 3-4.
