The Hope Bobcats and Ladycats concluded their conference season series battle falling to the Hot Springs Trojans and Lady Trojans on the road this past Tuesday night for 5A Southwest Conference play.

The Ladycats started out with the lead 13-8 in the first quarter, but the Lady Trojans came alive for the last three quarters of the game to defeat Hope, 53-37.

In the game, Ladycats' Asia Wesley led scoring in double-figures with 10 points, Vantrece Henry followed up with eight points, Akima Rhodes and T'keyah Warren each had five points apiece. Khadijah Conway and Angelica Fulton both chipped in four points apiece.
The Ladycats fall to 1-7 in conference and 5-11 overall.

For the night cap game, the Bobcats fell behind early for a 19-4 deficit heading into the second quarter.

The Bobcats out-scored the Trojans 13-8 in the second period, but Hot Spring led at halftime, 27-17.

In the second half, the Bobcats  battled back but Hot Springs out-scored Hope, 19-15.

The Trojans went on to defeat the Bobcats 46-32.
In the game, Bobcats' Chris Thornton led scoring in double-figures with 11 points and Vincent Love added 10 points.

Head coach Sam Bradford feels his Bobcats are battling hard, but just falling short of playing a complete ball game. He's hoping to build a deeper bench so fatigue won't cause a factor for the Bobcats. The Bobcats fall to 1-7 in conference.

This Friday night, the Bobcats and Ladycats return home to host the Lakeside Rams and Lady Rams for 5A Southwest Conference play.

Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., beginning with junior varsity play, followed by senior high girls and boys action at Jones Field House Gymnasium.
