The park is in full swing preparing for one of the largest and most popular festivals of Southwest Arkansas “The 42nd Annual Jonquil Festival”.
Hundreds of crafters and vendors will line the streets of Washington with everything from hand-made jewelry, candles, woodcrafts, funnel cakes, kettle corn and much more. Visit with some of the returning craftsmen as well as the new. There will be something for every one of all ages.
The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission will be showing their large 3000- gallon mobile aquarium all three days of the festival near the “Kid Zone” so make sure everyone in the family gets to take a look at the amazing “Live Underwater” display.
For any tractor enthusiast or collectors don’t miss the Antique Tractor Show on Saturday. Historic Washington has put in their order for “Sunshine & Jonquils” so try to make plans to visit Historic Washington State Park March 19- 21. for the 42nd annual Jonquil Festival. It is located on US 278 nine miles north of Hope, take exit 30 off Interstate 30.

The entertainment schedule for Friday is as follows: 10 to 11 a.m., Rudy Preston; 11 a.m. to noon, Jim Barentine; Noon to 1 p.m., Mark Keith, Charlie Webb and Jerome Underwood; 1 to 3 p.m. ,Shelly Keith; 3 to 4 p.m., Rudy Preston, along with Jim Barentine and the Strolling Musicians ( Keith, Webb, & Underwood).
Saturday entertainment includes from10 a.m. to noon, Gene Cagle (4 “A”s plus One), noon to 2 p.m., Nighthawk Band; 2 to 3 p.m. Cameron and Rudy Preston; 3 to 4 p.m., Jerome Underwood and the Strolling Musicians- (Keith and Webb).
For Sunday, the entertainment from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be Level Ground; 1 to 3 p.m., Nighthawk Band; and from 3 to 4 p.m. Hempstead County Melody Boys.
