Election watch party planned

The Sebastian County Democrats will host an election night watch party at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverfront Park, 121 Riverfront Drive. Members will be phone banking during the day, then the watch party will run until midnight.

Help museum and enjoy good food

The LeFlore County Historical Society Museum at Hotel Lowery will host a pair of fundraisers at 303 Dewey Ave. in Poteau. The first is a Veterans Day pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $5 per person and includes pancakes, bacon, coffee, orange juice and milk. The second event is Tuesday Lunch at the Museum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15. Cost is $6 for Indian tacos, dessert and drinks.

Veterans Day Parade slated

The fifth annual Regional Veterans Day Parade and Celebration will be Saturday along Terry Street at Chaffee Crossing. Terry Street between Ward and Darby avenues will be closed. More than 930 registered participants are signed up so far, and this year's theme is "A salute to women in the military."

Sen. John Boozman will hold a medal presentation at 11 a.m. on the stage, followed by the parade at noon.

Mansfield Christmas Parade set

The City of Mansfield's annual Christmas Parade will be 2 p.m. Dec. 3 with line up beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Mansfield Elementary School. Free beans and cornbread  will be available beginning at 11 a.m. at the gazebo.

Homicide survivors to hold luncheon

The Arkansas River Valley Homicide Survivors United support group will hold a remembrance and celebration of life luncheon from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 10 at Central Christian Church, 400 N. Waldron Road in Fort Smith. Bring a photo of your loved one that can be displayed on a memorial table.
