  • Sarah Alice Page Settlemyer, born February 26, 1920, to May Turner Page and James Richmond Page in Washington, died Monday, June 16, 2014 in Dallas, Texas.
    Mrs. Settlemyer grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington High School. She started her career as a secretary at Southwest Proving Grounds and soon after she worked for FDIC in Little Rock. She transferred with FDIC to Dallas, Texas. Later, she worked for the National Bank Examiners until she retired.
    She met Charles Settlemyer and they married in 1962. Together they enjoyed traveling, square dancing, bridge and 42. They started attending Wynnewood Presbyterian Church and later became members of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
    She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Page Warner and many nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Settlemyer; parents, James R. Page and Mary Turner Page; sisters, Jessie Bruce Easterling, Mary Kathryn Calhoun Wright, Louise Walthal; and, brothers, Robert Thomas Page, James Richmond Page, Jr. and Turner Page.
    Visitation will be held at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home, Friday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m.
    Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home, Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m., with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
