Janet Starr, was born in Shreveport, La., and graduated from Mansfield High School in Louisiana.
I left Louisiana in 1986 and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana,” Starr said. “I worked for Western Electric before I moved to Indiana and in Indiana, I worked at several jobs.”
I moved to Fulton recently, after getting a divorce,” she said. “I've got several of my family members near, including my mom, who lives in Fulton, my sister in Emmet, and another sister lives in Texarkana.”
Starr is volunteering at the Visitor Information Center at the train depot, and at Hope in Action, where she assists Mae Dulaney.
It makes me feel good to volunteer,” she said. “This way, I can give back to people. I never had time to volunteer when I worked, but now I have the time. I enjoy it very much.”
