Nancy Dean Reese Helmer was born April 28, 1942 in Hope, and she died in Double Oak, Texas, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, after a battle with Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma. Mrs. Helmer had worked as a teacher at locations in Arkansas and Texas, and she had been a Registered Medical Records Administrator most recently at Denton County MHMR. She was a loving wife and mother, and she and her husband, William N. Helmer, of Double Oak, would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in January, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loy Fay Miller Reese and Hugh Reese, of Hope. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Maighen E. H. MacGabhann, her husband, Brandon, and their son, Rogan (2) of Providence, Texas; daughter, Mary H. Steiner and her children, Allyson (22) and P.J. (18) of Allentown, Penn.; sisters, Barbara Davenport, of Nashville, Tenn., Cindy Payne, of Richland, Mo., and Melissa Reese, of Durham, N.C.; more than a dozen nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends who have loved and will miss her.
