Elsye Easterling, 87, of Hope, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, in Hope. Mrs. Easterling was born January 27, 1926, in Emmet, the daughter of James Marcus and Ruth Boyd Breed. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, the Home Extension Club, and a Cub Scout leader. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; a sister; and a great-granddaughter, Betsy Ball. Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Jack Easterling and wife, Jeri, of Hope; a granddaughter, Julie Ball, of Racine, Wis.; a grandson, Jon Easterling, of Texarkana, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Parker, Meredith, Addison, and Baylor; and a special niece, Sandra Shope. Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, October 6, at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home in Hope. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 7, at 2 p.m. in the Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home chapel, with Bro. Glenn Tropp officiating. Burial will follow in Snell Cemetery in Emmet.
