Shirley Gene Rinehart of Texarkana, Texas passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 in a local nursing home. He was born October 25, 1936 in McCaskill, and was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce and Vera Rinehart. He was a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir for several years. He retired from Commercial National Bank after 23 years and served the local banking community for 47 years. During his career he was actively involved as a Board member of the Salvation Army, a member of the Texarkana Evening Optimist Club, served on the United Way Board and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He loved his family and was known as a kind and caring person with a beautiful voice he loved to share.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha, one sister Janette Roberts, four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and David Carlock, Karole and Joe Latham, Karen and Dwade Rhea, Kay Nealy and Joe Stahl; thirteen Grandchildren, Brittney Knapp, Sarah Carlock, Rachel Carlock, Chris Sprayberry, Jason Sprayberry, Hunter Bollier, Cody Bollier, Brandon Hicks, Matthew Trumble, Josh Trumble, Kelby Campbell, Kenzie Spriggs and Allie Spriggs, eleven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Monday, August 19, 2013, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Chapel, with Doug Davis and the Rev. David Young officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery near Blevins.
