Jess Elvin Anderson, 82, of Hope, died Monday, June 24, 2013, in Hope.
Mr. Anderson was born on January 2, 1931, in Hope, to Willie L. and Lee Buster Anderson. He was a self-employed painter and carpenter and a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Hope. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jewel Walker Anderson; a son, Wayne Anderson; and, two brothers, Elmer Anderson and Willie Anderson.
He is survived by a son, Jerry L. Anderson, of Hope; three daughters, Connie Hawley and husband, Jimmy, of Maumelle, Rebecca Campbell, of Hope, and Christy Anderson, of Hope; two brothers, Merlin Anderson and wife, Patsy, of Hope and John Anderson, of Hope; a cousin who was like a sister to him, Maxine Lively; three grandchildren; and, numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel, with Bro. Duane Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope.
