Joyce McRoy, 84, of Hope, died, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. McRoy was born December 10, 1928, in Hope, to Sid and Zannie Mae Skinner McRoy. She was a social worker for the Department of Human Services, a home maker and a Seventh Day Adventist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Willard McRoy; a daughter, Kathy McRoy; two brothers, J.C. Collier and Virgil Skinner; and two sisters, Geraldine Collier-Cofield and Gracie Collier-Ross.
Joyce was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a caring and giving individual serving
many people throughout her long career with the Arkansas Department of Human Services. She will be deeply
missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Brantley and husband, Dave, of Hope; her sister, Iva Collier-Davis, of Hope; and three grandsons, Herbert Parmer, Jr., of Hope, John Parmer, of Austin, Texas, and Robert Parmer, of New Boston, Texas, as well many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home in Hope.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in the Shover Springs Community.
