Doyle Hughes Dunn, 79, of Hope, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Hope.
Mr. Dunn was born on September 3, 1933, in Hickman, Kentucky, to Emmitt and Tilda Pierce Dunn. He was retired from Kroger Quality Control and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hope for over 50 years. He served as Church Treasurer for 15 years, as a member of the choir for 40 years, a member of the finance committee, and member and Past President of the Century Bible Class. He was a member of Hope Kiwanis Club and member and Past President of Golden K. He was awarded the Hickson award for service to Kiwanis International. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was also an avid Razorback fan, golfer, hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Dunn; a son, Dean Dunn and wife, Kim, of Little Rock; a daughter,
Diana Bunel and husband, Dr. Kirby Bunel, of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Donald Dunn and wife, Peggy, of
Paragould; a sister, Sally Dunn, of Osceola; four grandchildren, Kristi Cooper and husband, Jesse, of Cabot, Cole Dunn, of Little Rock, and Meredith Bunel and Luke Bunel, of Texarkana, Texas; numerous other family members and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Choir Fund, P. O. Box 400, Hope, Ar., 71802.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the First United Methodist Church of Hope, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.
