Charles Monroe Sandifer, 71, of Hope, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mr. Sandifer was born October 17, 1941, in Junction City, to Morgan and Janie Bell Sandifer. He was retired from Cal-Maine Foods and was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen Moody Sandifer, of Hope; one son, Charles Kevin Sandifer and wife, Amy, of Hope; one daughter, Angela Sandifer Hampton, of Hope; two sisters, Carolyn Henderson and husband Bob and Martha White, all of Hope; two special sisters-in-law, Karleen Hunt and Mary Trusty, both of Hope; two grandsons, Cody Hampton and Bruce Sandifer, and one granddaughter, Olivia Sandifer, all of Hope. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m. at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home in Hope. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Huckabee Cemetery, with Bro. Mark Faulkner officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
