Robert Henry Percy Jr., 55, of Hot Springs, died Thursday, February 21, 2013, in a local hospital with his family at his side. Mr. Percy was born October 10, 1957, in New Haven, Conn., to Robert H. and Julia James Percy, Sr. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Percy Magness; a son, Robert H. Percy, III; and his brother-in-law, Jay Johnson He was a member of Woodridge Church of Christ, where he served in the transportation, finance and youth ministries. He was a former member of the Unity Song Group. He was a 1976 graduate of Hot Springs High School. He worked for Arkansas Rehabilitation Center, now Arkansas Career Training Institute, for more than 30 years until his recent retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, having won several fishing tournaments. His memories will be cherished by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Washington Percy, of Hot Springs; his father, Robert H. Percy, Sr., of Upper Marlboro, Md.; his children, Roderick Percy, of Tulsa, Okla., Frantia Washington, of Wichita Falls, Texas, La'Quisha Percy, of Hot Springs, and Erika (Jamarrow) James, of Jonesboro; five sisters, Gloria (Jimmy) Perkins, of Hot Springs, Marion Percy, of Atlanta, Ga., Patricia Johnson, of Jacksonville, N.C., Katherine Tweedle, of Detroi, Mich., and Monique (Theo) Byrd, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; his in-laws, Bennie and Sally Scott of Blevins; 11 grandchildren and one to be born, May 2013; and, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, at the Church of Christ, 948 Airport Road, with Brother Calvin Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, at the funeral home. The family will be at 234 Walnut Street in Hot Springs.
