The Hope Civitan Club has climbed aboard the Hope High School Bobcat Bandwagon to help the HHS Marching Band go to Washington, D.C. The Hope Civitan Club is preparing for a huge garage sale on Saturday at the parking lot of BancorpSouth from 7 a.m. until noon. Proceeds from the sale will be donated by the Civitan Club to the Music Parents Association to help fund the Marching Bobcat Band's trip to Washington D.C. to perform in the National Memorial Day Parade on May 27. Band students will be on hand to assist with the garage sale and to share information with the public about the upcoming trip to Washington. “Items are being collected from Civitan members, band parents, and community members alike, so the sale promises to a great one,” said MPA fundraising chair Jennifer Methvin. “Anyone interested in donating items to the sale should contact Bonnie Anderson at 870-777-2313.” “Community support for the Bobcat Band has been tremendous,” said Hope High School Band Director Kevin Dunn. “The Civitan Club has come up with a unique way to give our community the opportunity to support these band students. I think the garage sale will be a tremendous success, and we are grateful to the Civitan Club for this labor of love.” Those who want to join the Civitan Club on the Bobcat Bandwagon by supporting or sponsoring the HHS Marching Bobcat Band on their trip to the National Memorial Day Parade should contact Methvin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 870-703-0459.
