Jim Patridge, West/South Arkansas Division President for BancorpSouth, has announced the promotion of Donny Hughes, Jr. to Hope Market President upon the retirement of the bank's current Market President, Kathy Struckman, at the end of the year.

Donny Hughes, a 35-year banking veteran, joined BancorpSouth's predecessor, Citizen's National Bank, in June 1980. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Hughes was the Executive Vice President of Lending. Hughes attended Texarkana College, completed the American Institute of Banking General Banking and Lending Schools, and graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Banking.
Active in his community, Hughes is the Vice President of SADHI Board and has served on the board of directors for Hempstead County Economic Development, School of Hope, Hope Chamber of Commerce and the Young Bankers Executive Board. He is a 30-year Kiwanis Club member where he served as President.
Donny Hughes is married to the former Shirley G. Sinyard of Hope. The couple has two sons, Kyle 29, and Jeremy 26, and a daughter-in-law Hayley. They attend Bethany Baptist Church.
