DeAnn Volunteer Fire Department has 10 volunteers at the present time and has two fire stations to serve the DeAnn area and beyond. According to Fire Chief William Smith, a station is located in DeAnn and a second station is located on County Road 217. There are two trucks located at the DeAnn Fire Department in DeAnn and there are two fire trucks at the CR 217 location. “We also have two more trucks in the works,” Smith said. “We have an annual fee of $45 and 250 paid members. Last year, we had 48 fire and First Responder calls. Six of our crew are certified First Responders.” “First Responders must have eight hours of yearly training after their initial training,” he said. “Firefighters are also required to have 16 hours a year of additional training.” Smith said that the department does not hold fundraisers. Funds come from the 833 Fund, which come from the State of Arkansas's tax on homeowners policies. The funds are used to upgrade fire departments throughout the state of Arkansas.
