Maxine H. McJunkins, 90, of Hope, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.
Mrs. McJunkins was born August 10, 1922, in Saratoga, to Ed and Betty Echols Hughes. She was a retired teacher's aide, with 25 years of service in the Hope Public Schools, and was a member of the Hope Church of Christ for 35 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred McJunkins; a brother, Glen Doyle Hughes; and two sisters, Ruth Easley and Kate Hill.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Martin and husband, Greg, of Hope; two grandchildren, Alan Martin and wife, Jenifer, and Amy Martin Weir and husband ,Scott; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Weir, Mallory Weir and Benjamin Martin; a nephew, David Easley, of Little Rock; a niece, Martha Guy, of Texarkana, Texas; her loving church family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 10, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Church of Christ Pre-school System, 1815 Hwy. 73 East, Hope, Ar., 71801.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel in Hope.
Mr. Kevin Vaught and Mr. Barry Haynes will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga. Arrangements are by Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel, Director.
