The Spring Hill Lady Bears showed no mercy on the hardwood last week as they continue to shine during 7-2A West Conference play dominating the Lafayette County Lady Cougars 64-21 in their first meeting this season on the road.
The Lady Bears started off with an impressive first quarter lead over the Lady Cougars 18-2, then Spring Hill out-scored Lafayette County 11-8 in the second quarter. At halftime, the Lady Bears led Lafayette County, 29-10.
In the second half, the Lady Bears out-scored the Lady Cougars 35-11, as Spring Hill went on to be victorious over Lafayette County for a 43 point win in conference basketball action.In the game, Lady Bears' Lauren Kidd led scoring in double-figures with 15 points, Jamie Nance posted 12 points, Lindsey Braden added eight points, Claire McMaster followed with seven points, Jesse Roberts and Lakyn Kidd each scored five points apiece. Sidney Orr, Bridget Butler each contributed two points apiece for the Lady Bears.With the win, the Lady Bears improve to 6-0 in conference play and 12-0 overall.
In seventh grade girls action, the Jr. Lady Bears pulled out a 18-6 win over the Jr. Lady Cougars. In the first half, the Jr. Lady Bears maintained a 10-0 lead, then Spring Hill out-scored Lafayette County 8-6 in the second half to secure victory on the road.
In the game, Jr. Lady Bears Gracee Barham and Jesse Parks led scoring each with six points apiece.
The Lady Bears will be off for the remainder of the holiday break, but return to action on Friday January 4, 2013 facing the Dierks Lady Outlaws on the road for 7-2A West Conference play.
