Bobby Glenn “Bob” Odom, 72, of Hope, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born July 16, 1937, in Patmos. As a self-employed retired building contractor, he was the founder of Precision Bilt Homes and a U. S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division of Ft. Bragg, N. C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Henry and Nora McCoy Odom and an infant son, Charles Jay Odom.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Odom and wife Sonya, and Greg Odom and wife Betty Jo, all of Hope; one daughter Lisa Lene Brown and husband, Dwayne Brown, of Texarkana; two brothers, Don Odom, of Hope, and Carliss Odom, of Little Rock; one sister, Earlene Vines, of Patmos; the mother of his children, Twyla Odom; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and his faithful companion, “Buddy Boy”/Mr. Bud.
A memorial visitation is planned this Friday, November 27, between 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel. A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
